Background

The late Walt Disney ( b. 5 December 1901 - d. 15 December 1966 ) was an American animator, voice actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He is regarded as one of the innovative pioneers of modern day animation―creating the first animator's drawing table; synchronizing music to animation; technicolor; and the multiplane camera. He is also fondly remembered for co-creating many incredibly popular and enduring cartoon characters―such as Goofy, Donald Duck, and most notably, Mickey Mouse. Further, he was Mickey's first voice actor.

Walt Disney was also the driving force behind the Walt Disney Company and helped bring about the concept of a full-length animated cartoon films with Snow White and the Seven Dwarves in 1937, stunning the world. His visionary creations helped cement his company's reputation as one of the most beloved and successful leaders in imaginative storytelling. The company which continues to bear his name is regarded as one of the preeminent television, broadcasting, and entertainment business conglomerates in the world today―which continues to use Mickey Mouse as their mascot.
