Trivia[]
- Was originally cast as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. However he was slated to be the lead role of the TV series, Magnum, P.I. and was extremely torn between the two; he really wanted to play part of the intrepid archeologist but had already given his word to play Thomas Magnum and seriously contemplated breaking his promise. But he eventually decided to honor his previous commitment resulting in Harrison Ford taking on the iconic role instead. Ironically, the shooting schedule of Magnum, P.I. suffered severe delays which would have allowed him to fit in the Indiana Jones' role to his great regret. In fact, while he was waiting in Hawaii for the delays in the shooting schedule for Magnum to clear up; Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were also on the island, shooting scenes for Raiders of the Lost Ark.
