Superman: The Animated Series or Superman: TAS was an American produced adventure-action superhero animated cartoon TV series with Tim Daly, Dana Delany, David Kaufman, and Clancy Brown contributing as the primary voice actors.
The series was an adaptation of DC Comics' flagship character of Superman aka the Man of Steel and one of their most popular and enduring franchises. Part of the DC Animated Universe Franchise, the series was often paired in tandem with The New Batman Adventures for syndication as "The New Batman/Superman Adventures". Both series had several crossover episodes as well. The characters and backstory of Superman: TAS was incorporated and often referenced in the 2001 spin-off series, Justice League.
Although the character designs and visual style based on Superman: TAS as well as the majority of the voice actors would contribute to the 2006 direct-to-video film Superman: Brainiac Attacks; the film is not considered a canon part of the DCAU Franchise nor a direct sequel to the series.
