Overview

Mankind has depleted our natural resources and our only hope lies in the vast untapped and exploitable resources of the last unexplored frontier: underwater. The United Earth Oceans Organization recruits Captain Nathan Bridger and the Deep Submergence Vehicle, the seaQuest to maintain the tenuous peace. But can a ship designed to be the ultimate weapon be repurposed as a ship of peace?

SeaQuest 2032 was an American produced adventure sci-fi TV series starring Roy Scheider, Jonathan Brandis, Stephanie Beacham, Ted Raimi, Marco Sanchez, Don Franklin, and Michael Ironside.

Initially an extremely popular TV series known as seaQuest DSV, it suffered from extremely stiff competition from rival shows, Murder, She Wrote and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the ratings which prompted studio executives to have the show to move shooting locations from Los Angeles to Florida as a cost cutting measure and changing format.

The shift resulted in several changes in the cast and severe criticism from the lead actor, Roy Scheider who was unhappy with these changes prompting him to be finally written out for a third season. The third season saw even more severe and radical changes, including retitling it to SeaQuest 2032 which did not improve ratings and saw the series abruptly cancelled with an aborted season.
