Real Women Have Curves is an American comedy-drama film directed by Patricia Cardoso, and starring America Ferrera as protagonist Ana García. It is based on the eponymous play by Josefina López, who co-authored the screenplay for the film with George LaVoo. It was released in the United States on 18 October 2002, and has accumulated a total gross of $7.7 million.
Plot[]
This film tells the story of a first generation Mexican-American girl and her passage to adulthood. Although she wants to go away to college, she would have to fight against the views of her parents, who think she should stay at home and provide for her family, so she works with her mother in a sewing factory over the summer and learns some important life lessons, helping her make a decision about her future.
