in the early 19th Century, a young Spanish aristocrat Tessa Alvarado assumes the masked identity of the "Queen of Swords" to avenge her father's murder and along the way, she also fights the injustice and the tyranny of the corrupt officials in California responsible.
Queen of Swords was a short-lived Canadian-Spanish produced action-adventure drama-western TV series starring Tessie Santiago, Paulina Galvez, Valentine Pelka, Anthony Lemke, Elsa Pataky, Tacho Gonzalez, and Peter Wingfield.
The series was heavily based on Zorro save for a female lead and was plagued with several legal issues involving a failure to properly credit one of its creators and subsequently suffering a lawsuit for copyright infringement for basing the story and character on Zorro. Although the various legal issues were resolved and the lawsuits ultimately dismissed, by that time the TV show was cancelled.
