The New Batman Adventures was an American produced action-adventure superhero animated cartoon TV series with Kevin Conroy, Mathew Valencia, Tara Strong, and Loren Lester contributing as the primary voice actors. It was intended as a sequel series of Batman: The Animated Series, jumping forward roughly three years after the conclusion of Batman: TAS and featured major changes in the relationships between the characters.
The series was an adaptation of DC Comics' flagship character of Batman aka the Dark Knight Detective and one of their most popular and enduring media franchises.
Following the successful and acclaimed series run of Batman: The Animated Series and subsequent release of Superman: The Animated Series, it was decided to create this sequel series albeit with artistic changes to bring it more into line with the currently being produced Superman: TAS and having the two share continuity.
The New Batman Adventures had several crossover episodes with Superman: TAS and Static Shock. It also featured a direct-to-video movie Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman which came with a bonus cartoon, Chase Me as well as inspiring the Gotham Girls webisodes which focused on Batgirl, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.
The New Batman Adventures was later paired up with Superman: The Animated Series and played in a tandem rerun format with each another as The New Batman/Superman Adventures.
