He's a grumpy evil scientist who hates that he's bald. He's trying to make hair lotion every day, but always fails and accidently makes flower lotion instead. The running gag in cartoons is whenever he makes lotion and tries it on his head to see does it work, looks at himself in the mirror and sees that his head is covered in flowers. Then, he starts screaming and pulling flowers out of his head. On some occasions, Boss used to put water on flowers from Dr Egghead's head, and Dr Egghead punched him to the head and called him an idiot. Because he couldn't make a good lotion, he often encouraged Trolls to capture Vicky, Cuddly, Happy Dog and Kimbo and bring them to him so he can cut their hair and make himself a wig. His main goal is to cut Vicky's hair, because he wants to be blondie, like his favorite Rock Star.
I'm one of the Administrators at the site and have noticed a few issues with some of your editing. Not your fault, it was a bit vague in the Style Guidelines but in the future, we'd appreciate it if you don't add TV/Film Characters to certain Categories. Certain Occupations such as Martial Artists and Scientists are intended for actors/actresses/people and the Superhero Category is considered a Film/TV genre not an occupation.
It's certainly a valid interpretation and attempt to create sub-categories for the character lists and I hope that you're not insulted or angry at this but we prefer the current layout/guidelines established.
Please don't feel that you have to go back and remove what you've added; we can edit it ourselves if you wish. We hope that you continue to help and expand our community and make it grow in size and complexity.
As a side note, I have also noticed your post about expanding our Character Infoboxes re: occupation, height, hair color, etc. It's currently under discussion and review and we will let you know about our decision.
Just to let you know, I have been deleting/correcting some of those additions to the categories like I mentioned earlier. Also, I have fixed a few Image Galleries that you've added as well. They only have the "Image Gallery" in the Category Lists at the bottom and there were some formatting issues that needed to be fixed.
You can find the Image Gallery Template in the Template Guides. PM me or Mikex20 if you have any questions or confusion.
The help pages are really confusing (and occasionally clearly wrong) and haven't really helped me. There are so many things I don't know how to do... sometimes I succeed by accident. For example I have had a lot pf problems with Images and Image Galleries...
I have presumed that some of the problems are due to me using Firefox while the site has been optimized for some other browsers.
One strange things is the "Add" button... why are there six Episode Titles options? Wouldn't it be more useful to have "Character", "Person", "Movie" and so on... instead of "Episode Title" x6?
No problem. We have been trying to fix and add better and more detailed explanations to the site. To be honest, we have had very few people here trying to add stuff and most of those seem to understand how to do so we don't really have needed to do much in the way of looking up at the Help Pages. I have been trying to do some revising and clearing things up now and then, but it does help to have a fresh set of eyes and perspective; "I don't get it" or "that explanation is vague" helps me realize what needs improving.
Unfortunately, Mikex20 and myself aren't the most versed in computer coding and stuff like that. We did have a couple of other Admins who were better at it than us but one has disappeared on us and the other is busy managing his own site so he's rarely here. So some stuff is done by us fiddling around and experimenting to see if it works.
I don't know about why that is about the Add Button. It could be a default or it could be the Wiki tends to be "smart" about some things and tries to automatically keep the most used options up there and Mikex20 does keep adding a lot of adding episode pages.
You could also be right about the Firefox browser thing. Certain browsers seem to work better when editing the site; others don't. I myself do use Firefox too.
Adding relevant categories is fine; it's just that some of that the categories you were trying to add were a bit confusing to how the Wiki is set up. Certain categories are more film or TV genre like Superheroes and not as a character page. We prefer to keep the categories as relevant as possible; we have seen Wikis that have lists of people by height, weight, eye or hair color which we felt were too nitpicky. Ohter users on this site have tried to slap on categories like film aspect ratios and even music composers. So we try and keep an eye on those things that people add, don't take it personally.
I'm afraid that I don't know much about the Badges and how they're set up. I PM'd Mikex20 about that, so hopefully he'll have an idea about what's going on there.
The "Notable Cast" is indeed deliberate on the TV Pages; we felt that it was unnecessary to list every single person who has ever appeared on a TV show such as background crowds, guest stars, cameo characters and the like. So the Notable Cast is only for the major/regular cast members or say someone who played a very important/vital plot storyline. A detailed cast list can be posted on a TV episode page as not every regular or major cast have appeared in every single episode of a season.
We will consider modifying the TV Pages to include the actor credits like the Movie Pages as well as the Character Pages with "Physical Appearance" and "Skills and Abilities". It's under consideration.
We actually modified the Character Templates to change "Race" with "Species" as Mikex20 felt it suited it better. Unfortunately that means we have to go and change that in all of the already formatted character pages. So no, no Caucausian or White.
Got a message back from Mikex20 and unfortunately, it appears that editing the James Bond Character Pages don't actually count towards the James Bond Badges; it's only modifying the movie/tv pages that appear to count. Sorry.
Oh, I just noticed that you also replied on Mikex20's page so yeah, the Physical Appearances and Skills and Abilities can be slotted under the "Personality & Traits" with Subheading 3.
I was looking at Varia (Xena: Warrior Princess) and was doing some tinkering around with it to see how it would look with that. Other than that, I just copied the video clips to her new Image Gallery page; I also removed two of the video clips from Varia's main article page as I felt it was a bit too crowded.
And as Mikex20 said, we do try to treat all of the different incarnations of characters with their own separate character pages; like you stated, some of them are simply too different to maintain a cohesive character page. Either that or we'd have to maintain a super-long profile with all of their different versions. There are a list of the various incarnations of a character under "Other Versions" with those image/links indicating which ones we have created so far for the characters.
Surprisingly, some characters are in fact regarded as being the same one. For example, James Bond has had seven or eight actors portraying him but Eon Productions has proclaimed that it's the same character.
Buffy Summers is another; Joss Whedon has stated that the movie and TV series share the same continuity with Sarah Michelle Geller picking up where Kristy Swanson's role ended a few months later apparently. It's not unheard of even in films. For example, Kristie Alley was the original actress for Saavik but was replaced with Robin Curtis for her next few appearances and it was just treated as the same person. In those cases, we treat them as the same person/profile as well.
