The late Matthew Perry ( b. 19 August 1969 - d. 28 October 2023 ) was an American and Canadian actor, director, producer, and writer. He appeared in live action stage theater, television, and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.
Perry was best known for his extended role as the sarcastically neurotic Chandler Bing, one of the main cast members on the hugely popular and highly acclaimed TV sitcom series Friends which earned him international fame and recognition.
Perry was also known for suffering from alcohol and drug addiction problems throughout most his life and sought to advocate for help and rehabilitation programs for those like himself.
