The film is loosely based on or inspired by comic book series, "Old Man Logan" by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.
The film takes place in an alternative timeline, a dystopian future where an aging Logan is working as an uber limo driver and using the money to buy medicine as well as save up for a sunseeker for Xavier and Caliban. Things changed when Gabriela requests Logan to take her and her daughter, Laura, to a safe haven in North Dakota.
