Kyra Sedgwick ( b. 19 August 1965 ) is an American actress, director, and producer. She has appeared in live action television and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.
Sedgwick is well known for her performances in Born on the Fourth of July and Miss Rose White.
However, she is best known for her extended role as the dedicated Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson whose skill in interrogation makes her an incredible asset (and sometimes without the 'et') to the LAPD's Priority Homicide Squad in the highly acclaimed cable TV series, The Closer. She portrayed this role consecutively throughout the entire series run; winning numerous nominations and awards for her performance.
