Trivia

• Saved fellow actor Charlie Sheen's life during the shooting of the 1986 film Platoon. During a helicopter scene, the helicopter banked sharply and Sheen lost his balance and started falling out of the open doors and would have plunged to his death had not David sitting next to him, seen his impending fall and grabbed him.
