Karen Gillan ( b. 29 November 1987 ) is a Scottish model, actress, producer, director, and activist for suicide prevention. She has appeared in live action classic stage theater, television and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.
Gillian is best known for her extended role as Amy Pond, the primary companion of the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) of the long-running Doctor Who TV series from 2010 to 2012 and as Nebula, the embittered adopted daughter of the Mad Titan Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which helped propel her to becoming a pop culture icon.
