Overview[]
Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is the sequel film to Justice League Dark (2017) and it's the 15th and final film in the DC Animated Movie Universe as well as the 38th film in the DC Animated Movies Universe. The film is loosely based and inspired by "Darkseid War" by Geoff Johns. Furthermore, the film concludes the DC Animated Movie Universe continuity and shares references to Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013) which is based on the DC's New 52 comic book storyline.
Plot[]
Superman holds a meeting with the rest of the Justice League about their plans to attack Darkseid first after acknowledging the past attacks they had from Darkseid. Unbeknownst to the team, Darkseid is watching through Cyborg's eyes and learning about their strategy. The Justice League depart to Apokolips only to meet their demise. Most of the members are slaughtered or missing in action.
Two years has passed and the Earth is under Darkseid's rule. Superman and Raven seek Constantine to request his assistance to track down Damian Wayne. Constantine is reluctant to help out due to the events that have transpired with him running away after Zatanna's death at the Paradooms. Constantine, Etrigan, Raven, and Superman find Damian at a League of Shadows outpost.
Then, the group departs to Lois Lane's base where Lois Lane has defeated Harley Quinn in order to add her Suicide Squad and forces into their ranks. Lois debriefs them on their plan to infiltrate LexCorp while their forces attack the three Apokolips facilities that harvests the Earth's magma as distraction. This is done after Darkseid has departed to Oa during his conquest.
With Lois's forces on Earth, Superman's team uses the Boomtube at LexCorp to embark to Apokolips, hoping to destroy the world by boom tubing it into a blackhole. During the battle, Raven and her group boomtube to Earth after Trigon keeps Darkseid at bay while Cyborg finishes his preparations of boom tubing Apokolips into a blackhole. The gang leave Cyborg, Trigon, and Darkseid whom all died in a blackhole.
Despite obtaining victory at a high cost, Constantine persuades Flash to run back in time to prevent this catastrophic event as the Earth stops rotating due to depleted magma.
