Received his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology at Minot State University.
Won the IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association) Male Model of the Year Award in 1997.
Josh wanted to be a dentist from the time he was a sophomore in high school. He gave up his dream to become a dentist when his grades were not good enough to get in a dental college. As a result, he moved to California where he got discovered while posing for fashion magazines.

Often mistaken for actor Timothy Olyphant, one year for a prank, Timothy got Josh to pose in a family photo in place of him and Timothy sent it out as a Christmas Card. It actually fooled Timothy's mom who had it hung on her fridge. Then one time at a baseball game Josh was at, they played the "Celebrity Look a Like" game and they had Timothy Olyphant's picture up on the Jumbo Tron and the camera panned to Josh Duhamel.
