Idina Menzel ( b. 30 May 1971 ) is an American actress and singer. She has appeared in live action musical theater, television, and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.

Menzel is regarded as perhaps the greatest stage musical talents of her generation, earning her the nickname of "The Queen of Broadway" and has earned numerous accolades, fans, and awards for her performances in a number of Broadway musicals including Rent; Wicked; and If/Then. Aside from a successful commercial career in songwriting and producing her own musical discography, Menzel has also appeared in a number of television and cinematic roles as well, often showcasing her prodigious musical talents.

Menzel is known for successfully reprising her theater role in the film adaptation of Rent.

But she is best known for serving as the voice actress of the misunderstood Queen of Arendelle, Elsa who is feared thanks to her potent magical powers over ice in Disney's 2013 animated film Frozen. She earned international stardom and recognition for this role. Elsa's signature anthem ballad, "Let It Go" is widely regarded as one of the most powerful, stirring, and beloved showtunes ever released by Disney and was a huge phenomenon among children for years afterwards.
