Hugh Laurie ( b. 11 June 1959 ) is a English actor, comedian, musician, and writer. He has appeared in live action television and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.
Laurie is well known as one half of the British comedic duo "Fry & Laurie" alongside his long time collaborator Stephen Fry with whom he's partnered up with since the early 1980s. He is however best known for his extended role as the misanthropic Dr. Gregory House who was the titular character of the long running and top rated medical-drama TV series House, M.D. for which he won numerous accolades and two Golden Globes.

Trivia[]
- Is the son of an Olympic gold medal for competitive rowing (coxless pairs) in the 1948 Games in London and was also a champion coxless pair himself, having won the British National Junior Championship in 1978. Intended to be an Olympic rower but had to drop out when he contracted glandular fever and subsequently joined the university drama club where he met his future comedic partner, Stephen Fry.
