Overview[]
Generation X was a 1996 American produced made-for-TV film starring Matt Frewer, Finola Hughes, and Jeremy Ratchford. It was directed by Jack Sholder and was based on the extremely popular at-the-time "Generation X" comic book series that was a spin-off series of the X-Men media franchise. Generation X focused on a young new class of untrained mutants taught by former X-Men alumnus Banshee along with the former X-Men villain, Emma Frost aka the White Queen.
This low-budget film was intended to serve as a pilot for a syndicated TV series but failed to be picked up.
Mad scientist Russell Tresh is obsessed with the power of dreams and seeks to extract the dreams of mutants which he believes holds the key to ultimate power.

Trivia[]
- Jeremy Ratchford also voiced his character of Banshee in the X-Men cartoon.
- The Generation X mansion set would subsequently be reused in 20th Century Fox's big budget X-Men Film Franchise as Charles Xavier's former home which he converted into the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters or the X-Mansion.
- The characters of Buff and Refrax were original characters created specifically for this movie as replacements for the Generation X members of Husk and Chamber respectively as it was deemed that their full-body power sets were too expensive for the special effects budget.
