Plot[]
Nemo is a little clownfish who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his worried father, Marlin, when his wife, Coral and the other offspring were eaten by the barracuda and only Nemo survived.
Marlin escorted Nemo along his way to school, showing his overprotective side that Nemo has no ability to take care of himself. At first, after dropping Nemo with his new class, he overheard the other kid’s parents say that they are going to drop off. In a panic, he swims to the sea only to find Nemo and his friends enjoying the open seas. Marlin started scolding Nemo that he almost endangered himself. The kids that Nemo befriended said that he wasn’t doing anything because he was too afraid. This made Nemo embarrassed that he can’t do anything. Mr. Ray, Nemo’s stingray teacher, shows and asks what was wrong. The clownfish told him that Nemo could get lost since he can’t swim. Mr. Ray assures that Nemo is safe.
Suddenly, one of the students saw Nemo swimming out to sea, stopping beneath a boat. Marlin angrily scolded Nemo to come back here but however, a scuba diver captured Nemo and departed with him.
Marlin swam after the boat but he was so small that he couldn't catch up with the boat. He asks any local fish to help until he meets a blue tang named Dory and invades Marlin. Marlin demanded what was wrong with her, which reveals that she has short term memory loss. Marlin, thinking that she is wasting his time, begins to leave but is stopped by a great white shark who invited them to a get-together where his lair, a submarine where sea mines live.
Marlin spotted the diver’s mask and thought it might be a clue where Nemo is. Dory picks up so she can read but however, she got herself a nosebleed and the shark, now smelling blood, gave into his inner instincts and tried to eat them. But they escaped. Trying to find their way out, Dory reveals she can read words. They escaped the shark, but the mask fell into the trench.
Swimming down into the depths, they find the mask and Dory recites the address and realizes that she can remember the words. The pair swim on, getting directions from a school moon fish, avoiding jellyfish and making their way to the East Australian Current. One of the sea turtles asked Marlin how he lost his son, which he started to explain his story, that started to spread across the ocean,
Meanwhile, Nemo is placed in a fish tank in a dentist office and meets a few inhabitants who tried to help, but their leader Gill tells Nemo that he must escape himself. The little fish had been told that the dentist’s daughter, Darla, was coming and was going to give a fish present. However, Darla was a fish killer because she kills fish due to her careless treatment by shaking the bag a lot. He proposes a plan that they need to block the filter and get the tank dirty. Once it’s dirty enough, the dentist will place the fish into baggies and they will roll themselves out of the window and to the harbor. At first, Nemo was given the instructions that Gill told but however, it did not work because the pebble was too small and almost got Nemo killed.
When he was about to give up, Nigel, a pelican friend from the Fish Tank, arrives and informs Nemo that Marlin is on his way. Feeling hope coming, Nemo grabbed a bigger pebble and jammed the filter for good. With the filter jammed, the fish tank started to get covered in green algae. Gill said that his father might be already there, waiting for him.
Not to far away, Marlin and Dory are still searching for Nemo, when they get scooped up by a pelican. Nigel flew over and hit the pelican in the back and learned that Marlin is looking for Nemo. He takes the fish to the dentist office after escaping a flock of seagulls.
In the dentist office, the fish were shocked to see that the dentist installed a new filter, making the tank clean. Everyone started to get worried that Darla is going to arrive and Nemo was taken away into a plastic bag and placed in a tin to keep him from moving. Gill told him that he is gonna be okay, but at the moment, Darla had arrived. The dentist gets her ready and was going to give Nemo, only to find that Nemo is dead. It turns out, Nemo was playing dead, making the fish realize that he is gonna get flushed down the toilet, however, the dentist moves to the trash can. Nigel arrived in time and Marlin forced the pelican into the office, terrorizing the humans. Marlin looked and saw Nemo, floating upside down, making him realize that his son was “dead.”
The dentist forced Nigel out, and Nemo thought he heard his father. Darla takes the bag and starts to shake Nemo around. Fearing that Nemo is gonna die, Gill launches himself off the volcano and lands on Darla’s head, making her drop Nemo and send him down the drain. Now that Nemo is safe, Gill told everyone that Nemo is gonna be okay.
After leaving the harbor, Marlin, completely devastated that he lost his son, leaves Dory and returns home. This made Dory lose her memory completely and meet Nemo who reached the ocean. The blue tang’s memory returned and she directed Nemo to Marlin. However, a school of grouper was caught by a fish net. Nemo knows they need to escape and instructs the fish to swim down, telling Marlin that he needs to let go of his overprotective nature. They pulled the net down, freeing all the fish completely. Marlin apologized to Nemo for his selfish overprotective nature and became a more confident father for Nemo’s abilities.
After they return back home, Nemo leaves for school and Marlin knows that his son will be alright.
In the pre credit scene, the dentist saw that the tech filter had stopped working and the fish were all gone, since the tank got dirty again. The Tank Gang had escaped through the harbor, and were unable to escape their plastic bags.
