A recovering drug addict, Sherlock Holmes accompanied by the beautiful and alluring Dr. Joan Watson who is hired by his wealthy father to ensure that he remains sober while he conducts his various investigations.
Elementary was a long-running American produced mystery crime-drama TV series starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. It is an an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's legendary consulting detectives only updated and modernized for the 21st Century.
Elementary drew early criticism due to the fact that the BBC released a similar modern day adaptation, Sherlock in 2010 albeit in modern day London. However, it ultimately won several Awards and praise form various critics for its fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes legend as well as the actors, Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu for their performances as the sleuthing duo of Holmes and Watson.
