Background[]
Dwayne Johnson ( b. 2 May 1972 ) is an American actor and a former professional wrestler known for his ring name of "The Rock". He has appeared in live action television and cinematic roles; and voice acting performances.
As "The Rock", he helped popularize the World Wrestling Federation in the late 1990s which has since been renamed as the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) thanks to his charismatic trash talking attitude. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time and was a 10-time World Champion during his tenure. He entered semi-retirement in 2001, pursuing an acting career in his free time although he continued to make special appearances and occasional exhibition bouts as part of the WWE until he officially retired in 2019.
Johnson however has become even more famous worldwide for his performances as an action movie star thanks to his towering height, impressive musculature physique, and commanding voice.
He is best known for his extended role as DDS Agent Luke Hobbs, the living embodiment of Old Testament Justice in the internationally famous and popular Fast & The Furious Franchise.
Johnson also starred in a number of feature films such as Hercules; San Andreas; Skyscraper; Central Intelligence; Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle; Rampage; Jumanji: The Next Level; and Red Notice.
