Scrooge McDuck is a miserly quadzillionaire who is busy being smarter than the smarties and tougher than the toughies. And he travels all over the world with his family in tow as he searches for treasure and money making opportunities in his drive to be the Richest Duck in the World!

Disney's DuckTales was an American produced animated cartoon TV series with Alan Young, Russi Taylor, Chuck McCann, Terry McGovern, and Frank Welker contributing as the primary voice actors.

The series was an adaptation of Walt Disney's popular character of Donald Duck and his extended family as portrayed by cartoonist Carl Barks who built an entire universe revolving around his eccentric relatives, particularly the most famous one of them all, Scrooge McDuck. Originally a minor supporting character, miserly misanthrope, and antagonist to his younger nephew, Donald; McDuck became an important part of various story plots as he would often hire his poor nephew to undertake all manner of menial (and comedic) tasks that would take him on all sorts of adventures all over the world.

Scrooge's popularity grew to the point where he became the focal point and protagonist of the "Uncle Scrooge" comic book in 1952 which is still being published to this day. In the series, McDuck would develop closer familial ties to his once distant relatives of Huey, Dewey, and Louie who began accompanying Scrooge and Donald on their numerous misadventures as his supporting characters ... although still a miserly misanthrope.

DuckTales was an incredibly popular TV series during its original syndication run and has continued to be shown through reruns over the years, spawning a considerable DuckTales Franchise by introducing Scrooge McDuck to numerous viewers through the world.

It's success engendered a theatrical film, DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp which was released in 1990 as well as inspiring a number of other Disney adaption cartoon series such as Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, and Goof Troop.

It's popularity has also resulted in a spin-off series, Darkwing Duck and a reboot DuckTales TV series in 2017.

Plot Summary[]

Season 1[]

When Donald Duck joins the Navy, he has no choice but to put his three mischievous nephews; Huey, Dewy, and Louie up with their miserly Uncle Scrooge. The trio of scamps are horrified until they discover that their cantankerous relative isn't just some sort of stuffy and boring businessman.

Scrooge McDuck is the Richest Duck in the World! And he's determined to stay that way! And that means he's got to stay one step ahead of the competition such as the conniving Flintheart Glomgold. Whether it's working as a globetrotting archeologist, adventurer, and fortune hunter in his own right who dares to go where no duck would dare, looking for long lost treasures, new lands for trade or exotic goods to sell. Or coming up with the latest and hottest money-making scheme.

Not to mention he also has to safeguard his hard-won fortune by foiling numerous attempts by criminals such as the Beagle Boys out to rob his vault and confounding the dangerous witch, Magica de Spell who seeks to acquire Scrooge's greatest treasure; the first 10-cent piece that he earned as a boy and incidentally, is the most powerful magical lucky charm in the world!

Boring? Hardly! It's the greatest adventure of their lives! A Duck Tale of daring, magic, mystery, danger, and excitement!
