Overview[]

Plot[]

In 1996, Los Angeles is a city of rampant violence and crime. Anarchy reigns and the worst of the worst is Simon Phoenix, a ruthless crime lord who is a complete and utter maniac. Fortunately, the LAPD has a maniac of their own to stop him.

His name is John Spartan and with his tendency to go off on unstoppable rampages, the media has dubbed him ... "The Demolition Man".

After apprehending Phoenix, Spartan finds himself charged with causing the deaths of innocent bystanders and both are sentenced to cryogenic prison where they are frozen alive to undergo psycho-therapeutic reprogramming to turn them into productive and docile members of society.

In the year 2032, the cities of Los Angeles, San Diego, and Santa Barbara have merged into one gigantic benevolent utopia metropolis known as "San Angeles" run by Doctor Raymond Cocteau. Violence is prohibited, weapons are outlawed, and swearing is a fine-able offense. Their modern day utopia however becomes threatened when Simon Phoenix manages to escape from his parole hearing and proceeds to unleash his 20th Century violence and mayhem on the unsuspecting 21st.

The police find themselves incapable of bringing him in as they are simply no longer equipped or trained for non-violent solutions. But as they used to say: it takes a thief to catch a thief. Perhaps their only choice is to unleash a maniac ... to stop a maniac. To unleash ... the Demolition Man.

The 20th Century's Worst Criminal. The 20th Century's Most Dangerous Cop. The Future isn't big enough for both of them!
