A world class cat burglar and thief, Catwoman has a long spanning career as a criminal yet deep down, is weary of her lifestyle and seeks to retire.

In the 2012 The Dark Knight Rises live action film, she was portrayed by Anne Hathaway.

Background[]

The Catwoman is the alias of a major DC Comics supervillain and frequent nemesis to Batman for decades. The first and most well known Catwoman is Selina Kyle who debuted in Batman #1 in 1940 as simply "the Cat". She was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and has frequently been portrayed as a thief and cat burglar who has beguiled the Dark Knight.

The Batman has frequently apprehended Catwoman but has always appeared to have a soft spot for her as well and she has often been shown as someone who has served sometimes as his friend, sometimes as his enemy, and infrequently as his lover. Although frequently a criminal and thief, Catwoman has occasionally functioned as an anti-hero when the situation suits her interests and inclinations, but she has usually reverts to her habitual criminal behavior. Selina Kyle is the Batman's longest lasting and most enduring love interest and in several continuities, they were married and she is the mother to Helena Wayne aka the Huntress.

As the Catwoman, she has made numerous appearances in various television, animated cartoons, and films.
