Gotham City

Gotham City is a fictional place in the DC Universe and he primary setting for the Batman Franchise.

Overview[]

Located in New Jersey of the United States, Gotham City has always been a burgeoning metropolis and a breeding ground for vice, crime, and corruption. Although it is most famous for being the stomping ground for the Batman and his allies and associates in recent decades; a number of superheroes including the Golden Age Green Lantern and Black Canary also patrolled the streets and the Justice Society of America also had their headquarters based here.

History[]

The area where Gotham City now stands was once the lands belonging to a strange Native American tribe known the Migani whose totem was the bat and resided in several caves in the area.
