500 years ago, daring astronaut Buck Rogers suffered a tragic accident and was lost in deep space in 1987 A.D. Now in the present era, his vessel is found and he is revived in an era where his skills and courage are needed more than ever! And so a man lost from centuries in the past will become the greatest hero of the future! He is Buck Rogers in the 25th Century!
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was a relatively short-lived American science fiction TV series starring Gil Gerard, Erin Gray, and Felix Silla. It was based upon the pulp sci fi hero Buck Rogers created in 1928 by Philip Francis Nowlan; the immensely popular pulp hero would go on to inspire a long lasting franchise of comic strips, novels, and serial films as well as a host of imitators such as Dan Dare and Flash Gordon. This updated version of the classic sci-fi hero was in turn inspired by the height of the Star Wars craze which ironically had been inspired by Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.
