The Batman is gone and with him, New Gotham City is in the grips of a crime wave inspired by metahumans with dangerous powers. But not all hope is lost. Helena, the grown up daughter of Batman and Catwoman has taken up her father's crimefighting legacy as the Huntress. Allied with paralyzed Batgirl who now functions as the wheelchair computer hacker Oracle, she is determined to restore justice to Gotham City.
Birds of Prey was a short-lived American produced action-adventure drama superhero TV series starring Ashley Scott, Dina Meyer, and Rachel Skarsten that was based on the popular comic book series of the same name, "The Birds of Prey" which itself was a spin-off of DC Comics' Batman Franchise starring Barbara Gordon, the former Batgirl who after suffering a crippling injury; reinvented herself as an online digital vigilante code named "Oracle".
Gordon however sometimes faced situations which required a field agent and eventually recruited Dinah Lance aka Black Canary who was once a formidable heroine and member of the Justice League until during an undercover operation, she was brutally beaten and lost the use of her meta-power; a powerful sonic scream. Reduced to being a "mere" human, Lance found herself mired in self-doubt in her ability to continue her career as a superhero found a sympathetic and powerful ally in Gordon with the pair becoming a formidable duo with their combined brains, brawn, and experiences as female superheroes working under male superheroes.
