Evil never rests! Whether its plotting in the distant past or the far flung future, the darkest of jungles, or under the waves! And for Batman, the Caped Crusader? Sometimes not even his arsenal of way cool gadgets, legendary fighting skills, and keen wits are enough against the most dastardly villains and threats in the world!
But when the going gets tough, the tough get going. And nobody is tougher than Bats. So if one superhero isn't enough for the task of saving the world; then Batman is just going to have to get some brave friends and bold allies to assist him. Together ... they're the Brave and the Bold. And Evil doesn't stand a chance.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold was an American produced action-adventure superhero animated cartoon TV series with Diedrich Bader, Corey Burton, and John DiMaggio contributing as the primary voice actors.
The series was an adaptation of DC Comics' flagship character of Batman aka the Dark Knight Detective and one of their most popular and enduring media franchises.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold was based on The Brave & the Bold comic book series published from DC Comics from 1955 to 1983. Originally, it was an anthology-type of series that changed characters on a semi-regular basis and allowed the writers to experiment with new and untested characters such as Metamorpho and the Silver-Age Hawkman.
However, the comic series would become dominated by team-ups between unconventional characters. One such unlikely alliance resulted in the formation of the Justice League of America while another saw Robin the Boy Wonder, Aqualad, and Kid Flash grouped together which ultimately evolve into the Teen Titans.
The series would began exclusively starring Batman as the semi-permanent character in the book in the late 60's with a special guest star that changed every issue until its final cancellation in 1983. Various short-lived series with The Brave & the Bold tagline has continued to be irregularly published by DC Comics to this day.
Like its comic-based namesake, Batman: The Brave and the Bold TV series featured the titular star, Batman teaming up with a number of DC Comics' lesser known stable of characters in various adventures and even crossover characters like Scooby-Doo and Mystery, Inc. It was also noteworthy for being much more light-hearted than the majority of the Batman Franchise, hearkening back to the days of Adam West's incarnation of the Caped Crusader. The series proved popular enough that a feature film, Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave and the Bold was released seven years after its cancellation.
