All-Star Superman is a 2011 American produced superhero animated feature film with James Denton, Christina Hendricks, and Anthony LaPaglia contributing as the primary voice actors. It was directed by Sam Liu. It is a direct-to-video film and is based on the best-selling comic book series of the same name by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely.
He's plotted, schemed, and dreamed for years for this moment. For Lex Luthor has finally done the impossible. The unthinkable. He's the man who has finally murdered Superman.
Irrevocably poisoned, his very biology turned against him; the Man of Steel embarks on his last and his greatest adventures of all time before his growing mortality and inevitable death. But without the Man of Steel ... what is become of us without our greatest champion?

Following the hugely successful and award-winning 2005-2008 comic book series, "All Star Superman" by Grant Morrison; it was decided to adapt it into a feature film as part of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies which are intended for mainstream and more adult audiences.

All-Star Superman was a direct-to-video feature film that was released on February 22, 2011 in both DVD and Blu-Ray. It earned $4,701,620 from domestic DVD sales and $2,397,723 from domestic Blu-ray sales for a combined of $7,099,343.
Trivia[]
- This was one of the last project of Dwayne McDuffie. A noted comic book writer and creator, McDuffie was also prominent in a number of comic book based TV shows and films; he was responsible for adapting the storyline of Grant Morrison's "All Star Superman" comic book series into this film. McDuffie passed away a day before this film was released.
