Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (or alternatively as Stormbreaker) is a 2006 American, English, and German co-produced action-adventure espionage thriller film starring Alex Pettyfer, Mickey Rourke, Bill Nighy, Missi Pyle, and Damien Lewis. It was directed by Geoffrey Sax and was based on the highly popular teenage and young adult novel franchise series Alex Rider created by Anthony Horowitz. Operation Stormbreaker was an attempt to adapt it into a successful film franchise series but was a huge box office failure which cancelled the plans for future films at that time.

When his only living relative, his Uncle Ian Rider mysteriously dies under suspicious circumstances; Alex's investigation reveals that his uncle was lying to him for years. Because Ian Rider wasn't an average businessman who was always away on "business" ... but rather he was a top-level spy for MI6 British Secret Intelligence Service. MI6 decides that Alex is perfect to inherit the last mission of his uncle: investigate the eccentric technocrat Darrius Sayle.
There's a storm brewing and it's up to Alex Rider to find out if he has what it takes to survive and ride it ... or if it will break him like it did his uncle...
