Overview[]
Ahsoka Tano has been many things through the course of her short but tumultuous life from a headstrong and feisty Padawan Learner, an exiled Jedi Knight, and a Rebel Spymahster. But whatever the chaotic course that the Force has thrown in her path, Tano has always remained fiercely determined to make her own way no matter what obstacles are against her.
A major supporting character in the Star Wars Universe, Ahsoka Tano first debuted in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was voice acted by Ashley Eckstein.
Eckstein would go on to reprise the character throughout her subsequent animated appearances in the The Clone Wars and Rebels TV series.
Rosario Dawson would also portray the live action version of the character in the second season of the Mandalorian TV series, "Chapter 13: The Jedi" which was released on November 27, 2020.
Background[]
The character faced considerable disdain and criticism when she first debuted in the Star Wars films and later TV series however she quickly became a fan favorite; many citing her progression and positive growth throughout the storyline from a headstrong and cocky student to a more mature outlook while others pointed out that she often found herself questioning the morality of the Clone Wars and showed Anakin Skywalker himself evolving from a reckless daredevil into a confident war hero.
A number of critics also celebrated the fact that Ahsoka represented a rarity in the Star Wars Universe; that of an empowered girl growing into a powerful woman and an icon of a female Jedi Knight who had underrepresented by mostly male Jedi Knights.
