Overview[]

300 is a 2006 American produced action historical epic film starring Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Andrew Tiernan, David Wenham, and Dominic West. It was directed by Zack Synder. The film is an adaptation of the comic book limited series "300" by noted comic book writer/artist Frank Miller who was inspired by the 1962 film The 300 Spartans as well as the real-life legendary Battle of Thermopylae which took place in 480 BC.

In Ancient Greece, King Leonidas leads a small band of a mere 300 Spartans on a suicide mission―to hold "The Hot Gates" against a barbarian horde of Persians.

The enemy outnumbers them by the thousands. The Persian Army causes the very earth to tremble when they march as one and their arrow volleys blot out the sun. They have a vast waves of horses, war elephants, and even armored rhinoceroses along with hordes of cannon fodder slaves to throw at the feeble forces that the Greeks have assembled.

The 300 face a choice of either absolute surrender ... or utter annihilation.

Their reply?
