<p>I was working on Ryan Reynolds' page and added some stuff to his Trivia & Quotes Section and found it looks rather jumbled with both stuff mixed in one section together.  I was thinking that we need to perhaps separate them into two different sections or perhaps split up the section itself?  Is there anyway we can perhaps add a separation bar or a line or something to make the two areas different?  Any suggestions? </p>

<p>I've been pretty busy at my new job so I haven't been here as much lately.  But I have been editing here and there.  I just got around to adding a new Subcategory to the Vehicles List as "Starships".  I also noticed the huge additions to the Locations List and thinking about maybe trying to refine it as well.  Any suggestions? </p><p>Right off the top of my head; I could add in "Planets" and maybe "Space Stations".  Do you think we should also make a subcategory for "Fictional Locations" like for Gotham City or Storybrooke, Maine? </p><p>Or does anyone have a better suggestion?  I have to say that the "Fictional Locations" seems a bit awkward.  </p><p>Otherwise, I can't really think of anything else to refine the Locations except maybe breaking them down by Continents?  North America, South America, Europe, Asia, etc.? </p>

<p>I've been working on filling out a lot of the blank pages out there and have to admit that while I can add info and data no problem, I'm looking at the pages and finding it well ... a trifle bit dull for want of a better word.  </p><p>I view it as the job of the Admins to try and attract more viewers and interest in our Wiki.  But I'm at a loss at what to do to make it more exciting and more attractive and more interesting. </p><p>So I'm looking for ideas to "jazz" things up.  We already got like Movie Trailers on some pages as well as the Series Intro Videos for various TV series; is there anything that anyone WANTS to see on some pages?  More pictures? More Videos like Tributes to certain characters or funny bits relating to them?  Anything?  Anything at all?  </p>

<p>I have noticed that there are a large number of TV and films that are Foreign Remakes; that is, they were created in another country and have been "adapted" to a foreign country.  For example; I know that this show that my mom religiously watches "The Mysteries of Laura" is actually based on some Spanish show, "Los misterios de Laura and I have heard that "24" has been adapted into an India version "24-India".  The whole Power Rangers Franchise is another example of this; they kept the Japanese fighting sequences and simply reshot segments with American actors.<i> <span id="cke_bm_49E" style="display: none;"> </span><span id="cke_bm_43E" style="display: none;"> </span></i><span style="display: none;"> </span><span style="display: none;"> </span> </p><p>I've always considered the Remake Films and Remake TV categories on our site to be updated or revamped versions of an old TV or films.  But I've been considering if we should just lump these Foreign Remakes into the pre-exisiting category?  Or should we create a whole new category specifically for them like "Foreign Adaptation Films" and "Foreign Adaptation TV"?  I'm leaning towards the later but frankly, I'm not that thrilled with my name.  Does anyone have any better suggestions or ideas? </p>

<p>I've been working on filling out a bunch of the TV Show Pages and I think we're going to start running into problems with some shows with HUGE episode lists.  There have been shows with loads of episodes, shows with long running seasons; but the more we're expanding the Wikia--we're going to start running into shows with a combination of huge running seasons and episodes.  </p><p>I've been having to create a bunch of episode lists for One Piece, it's got 17 seasons and over 732 episodes right now and is still in production.  Just out idle curiousity, I tried looking up on the internet if there are any other shows out there with such large episodic counts ... I was dismayed to find out that One Piece isn't even considered in the top ten slots.  </p><p>No, that goes to Guiding Light; a soap opera that ran for over 57 seasons with 18,262 episodes and a bunch of other shows that seem to be closing the gap.  Unless we're planning on skipping those series--we need to start thinking about how to improve the Wikia to make it easier for contributors; perhaps some sort of automated system where we can just punch in the season and episode counts?  If that's even possible? </p><p>Another problem is page size.  For most TV shows; it's not necessary but there are already some TV pages on our site that are getting sizeable in length and most of it has to deal with the episode lists.  For some people, they won't care but I think the majority prefer something easier and smaller to digest.  And that's something we want to concentrate on; if we want this wikia to grow in popularity, we have to make it easier for them.  If it's too big, they'll probably simply dump the page for something else.  </p><p>We already started addressing this with scroll boxes for the character pages; but we may need to think about something similiar for these large episode lists.  The only other thing that I can think of is maybe a click-here-hyperlink to take the viewer to a dedicated episode page?  </p>

<p>I've been working on and off on the Objects List here and filling stuff in.  It's a bit annoying and how vague and contradictory some of the stuff is; particularly the Star Wars data.  George Lucas seems to enjoy revising and screwing with continuity at will.  For the most part, he sticks in maybe how long something is ... but rarely anything more detailed like height, width, or mass. </p><p>But I was thinking if we shouldn't try to refine the Categories of some of the Objects.  A few Objects are already Locations but should we do stuff like add in Weapons?  I've also noticed that we got quite a few starships listed in the Objects so maybe Starships?  </p><p>Quite a few of those ships though like the TIE Fighter and X-Wings can also go in atmospheres and there are also other crafts that don't really fall into Starships so I've been toying with maybe Vessels & Vehicles as a category instead?  Or is that too wordy?  What do you guys think? </p>

<p>I've been working recently on some of the Character Pages and I've been thinking that we might want to have some sort of addition to specific ones like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  It probably doesn't matter to most character pages but I think we may want to consider having some sort of list of what films or TV shows that a character might have appeared in.  Maybe after the "Personality & Traits" and before "Trivia"? </p><p>We already an "Other Versions" section for characters with multiple incarnations like the Joker, but I think we need one for those characters who have made multiple appearances in different movies or shows.  </p><p>Like I said, it probably doesn't really matter for most since they only appear in one movie or one TV series.  But there were exceptions like spin-off series as well as certain shows like Golden Girls, Nurses, and Empty Nest which had all of the characters ocassionally crossing over; it was easy since apparently they were all written/produced by the same person and were all on the same network.  Some networks have even done special episodes like Two and a Half Men had a CSI crossover episode once upon a time I think.  </p><p>But there appear to be a growing number of characters who crossover into various films and tv shows.  I know that the Arrow has appeared in "The Flash" and vice versa and will probably be guest starring in the forthcoming Vixen and Legends of Tomorrow show if what I've seen in the trailers is accurate.  </p><p>Robert Downey, Jr.'s version of Iron Man has appeared in a ton of stuff including Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he did a cameo spot in the Incredible Hulk as well.  </p><p>Samuel L. Jackson's version of Nick Fury has also appeared all over the place, even in TV shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  In those cases, we should probably not only mention the TV series, but the episode as well, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., "0-8-4" and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,"Beginning of the End".  </p><p>If we do that, we can create internal links to the other parts of the Wiki, which is something we're interested in as well right?  </p><p>So what do you guys think?  Maybe even haveing subcategories; breaking it down into Film Appearances and TV Show Appearances? </p>

<p>I have noticed that as the Character Pages are expanding, I am seeing a few duplicate entries so to speak.  That is, different incarnations of the same character from different series.  </p><p>For example: </p><p>Joker (DCAU) </p><p>Joker (Batman Nolanverse) </p><p>Joker (Batman '66) </p><p>Joker (The Batman) </p><p>Joker (Batman Burtonverse) </p><p>God only knows how many more Joker profiles will have to be created.  That's not even thinking about some of the other characters who have mere cameo appearances or ones like Batman's incarnations.  I am already imagining the headache inducing problems those profiles will result in. </p><p>I am thinking we may eventually some better organization for this.  For some dupe entries, it will probably be a bit easier.  For example, there are two entires for Captain Kirk.  </p><p>James T. Kirk (Star Trek TOS) </p><p>Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek Alternate Reality) </p><p>We may have to create a third one for the animation version?  Or simply put it under the TOS Kirk since they are essentially the same character, just animated?  But perhaps we can have at the beginning of each page a shortcut link to the other page or pages?  Like if you're looking at the William Shatner version at the top of the page is something like: <i>"Not the character you're looking for?  You may be looking for Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek Alternate Reality)."</i> </p><p>For those characters with a ton of incarnations (like maybe 5 or more?), could we create a disambigation page or something?  Something similiar like a link to a page which will only feature all of the varied incarnations of the characters themselves? </p><p>What do you guys think? </p>

<p>I was finishing up the Plot Section on The Whole Nine Yards and frankly, it's looking a little dull to me with loads and loads of text.  I'm thinking of inserting some pics to break it up.  What do you guys think?  I haven't seen anything in the Style Guide detailing about it and I didn't want to do anything that Mikex20 doesn't feel is appropriate. </p><p>If we are going to be adding pics those sections, not just on a separate Image Page; perhaps we should write in on the Style Guide Page not to overdo it?  That is why we do have an Image Tab after all.  </p><p>For that matter, some detailed character and episode pages (I dunno if we have any yet) may need some images as well if they're overly lengthy.  </p>

Or maybe some text beside the new entry proclaiming NEW! in bold and blinking letters and/or different colors.  </p><p>You could even have it by the Subcategories Pages such as the Genre and Franchise to indicate that something has changed in those categories.  </p><p>I think it would help attract attention that this site is being updated and upgraded on a regular basis.  That if someone doesn't check back, they'll miss it.  As it is, the "Recent Wiki Activity" Window Box only has a limited number of spaces.  This way, someone can see what the latest and newest stuff that we've added to the site.  I don't think we need to bother with a notification of someone updating or modifying a page, but the actual act of creation merits a nod at least.  </p><p>However it would have be some sort of time-linked function that after a certain amount of time, the NEW! icon or text would simply disappear.  Maybe something like 7 days time limit?  </p>

<p>I still cannot get over how many entries that we've been adding and the Wiki just seems to keep on growing and growing with no end in sight.  So much so that I think we might need to start thinking of ways to refine our search entries.  </p><p>I know that we can search via genre, franchise, film company, and even year and then cross-search alphabetically if the section is large enough.  But is there any way for us to improve upon this?  I have to say that double digits isn't much, but when some of these categories start going into triple and even quadruple digits ... it starts to become daunting. </p><p>So anyways, I was looking at the category links that we have the bottom of each entry and wondering if there isn't some way to cross-search those as well?  A number of shows cross various categories.  So maybe we can chose two or maybe more categories for the search function to sort through?  Say if we could select "Action" and "Sci Fi", the search will only pop up those shows that only fit those two categories and even discard shows that only fit in one section?  That might really cut down on the sheer numbers of entries.  </p>

<p>One possible improvement that I wanted to suggest is if there is anyway to have a sort of updating list of active members who are currently online the site?  You know, when you're online, you can see who else is online at the same time?  </p><p>I was also wondering if the individual pages could have something like a "top contributors" display that shows a list of who has done the most to fill out the page.  I figure just limit it to maybe the top 3 or so.  I know that the site keeps track of the stuff that we've added or changed to each page, plus when we've executed those changes.  Is there anyway to tie a small display or something along with something like crediting the "page creator" as well?  </p>

<p>One thing that I've noticed is that our Home Page looks a little empty.  I mean, the top half is fine and stuff but I've noticed that as I scroll down, we seem to have an awful lot of blank space next to the sidebar.  </p><p>I know that we have those two sections that feature "New Films" and "TV Shows" but maybe we need to punch it up a bit.  Perhaps instead of "New Films", we could have a video section that shows the new film trailers and stuff when you click on it? </p><p>I also know that I mentioned that I also think we need to add a section similiar to the "TV Shows" that instead focuses on Movies that highlight the top 3 or 4 movie articles that are the most extensively filled out and stuff like that with whole slideshow deal.  </p><p>Finally I've noticed that other Wikias have a section like a "Featured Article of the Month" or something and maybe we could use something like that and randomly select Actors, TV/Movie Characters, Objects, or Locations each month.  </p><p>Does anyone else have any suggestions on stuff we could add to the Home Page? </p>

<p>I was wondering if we had a section that details our membership anywhere.  Just a list of people interested in the site and bothered to join; not just contributors.  Basically I was just wondering how popular we are.  I know the site is still thin and in the process of building, but I was curious just how much attention we've managed to attract so far. </p><p>I also noticed that 'Top Content' submenu in the Community doesn't really seem to work; the page content is blank and only has an error message "This page needs Content.  You can help by adding a sentence or a photo".  Plus, I think it's also wrong.  Shouldnt 'Top Content' refer to those pages which have the most data or has been extensively filled out?  As far as I can tell from the article pages listed in the 'Top Content' are mostly blank and seem to be referenced under 'Most Visited Articles'.  I think that 'Top Content' submenu needs to be retitled to that 'Most Visited' instead as well. </p><p>We have something like the 'Top Content' for TV Shows on the Main Menu Page, right under the 'New Movies' Section.  I think we should also have something like that for Movies as well, highlighting the top 3 or 4 movie articles that are extensively filled out and stuff with that whole slideshow deal.  </p><p>I really don't think we should bother with having a 'Top Content' for say like the Anime, People, Characters, Objects, or Locations on the main page--maybe in the future when we have more stuff we have something on each specific page.  </p><p>I've been kinda wondering about at the very top of those pages; we have like 8 specially highlighted articles seemingly at random which displays a photo of the Characters, Movies, Objects, etc.  Exactly how does the website choose those 8 and do they ever re-randomize and display anything new?  Like every few months it changes or is it just permanent and stuff?  If it's permament; could we maybe instead select the 8 articles in Top Content for those pages.  </p><p>I was also thinking that we should have like an Upcoming Movies and TV Section on the Main Menu Page with that slideshow menu that lists movies and tv shows that are going to debut in the future. </p>

<p>Just looking over the Infoboxes for the Characters and the Actors as well and I think they could use some modifications.  I think the page divisions is a good start but maybe if there was a way to highlight or emphasize just what each section is.  </p><p>Like maybe instead of just "General Information" for the Characters; could it maybe be in a different or larger font, maybe in color or maybe have a dark block with the text in white or something, or center the header.  Same thing with "Debuts" as well.  </p><p>I was also thinking that we might want to add in a "Spouse(s):" section for the Actors.  I'm sorta leery of adding anything more detailed like Relatives.  I do recall that Screened also had a section for their personal websites or stuff like that too.  </p>

<p>I just noticed that Mikex20 created a page for the late great Robin Williams and I was struck by the fact that perhaps we should do something to honor those actors and actreses who have passed away.  </p><p>Perhaps we could do something like changing the color of the background of the info box to black and turning the text to white?  Or maybe something like a black ribbon or something?  </p>

<p>While we have a Info Box for Movies, I've been thinking that maybe we should have something similiar for the TV Series.  Obviously we can't duplicate it entirely but something like Creator, Show Length (30 minutes or 60 minutes), No. of Seasons, No. of Episodes, Beginning and Ending Date, Related Shows Section with links to crossovers, sequels, or spin-off series and any film adapatations that the series may have.   </p><p>For example, some shows actually are in the same "universe" so to speak and have had guest appearances or crossover episodes.  I know that "Two and a Half Men" and "CSI" had a crossover once as have "Hawaii 5-0" and "NCIS: Los Angeles", "Crossing Jordan" and "Las Vegas", as well as "Cheers" and "Wings" have had characters interact or appear on each other shows. </p><p>And one of the biggest things I'd like to have is something like an "Also Known As" section.  I've been filling in several TV sections and I've noticed that there are some shows that are known by other names over the years.  </p><p>For example; there is a show "Good Morning, Miss Bliss" that lasted for one season before it was cancelled but has a much more successful spin-off series, "Saved by the Bell".  Afterwards, they repackaged the series as "Saved by the Bell: The Junior High Years".  </p><p>I also know that there was another show that we haven't gotten around to adding; "You'll Never Get Rich" which was later retitled "The Phil Silvers Show" but is better known as "Sgt. Bilko" or "Bilko" by viewers.  </p><p>So what do you guys think? </p>

<p>As the Wiki is expanding, I think the Admins need to think about better navigation tools and shortcut links.  So far, it not THAT big of a problem but I think we're going to run into problems in a few months or so if it keeps growing the rate that it is.  We're ultimately going to need something better than "Next 200".  Even the Genre, Year Released, Franchise, and Film Company breakdowns and shortcut links is not going to be enough the way things are going.  </p><p>Some people are going to want to simply browse through the pages without any sort of limits to the search.  </p><p>Is there anyway that we can have an alphabetical search engine?  You know, click on the letter that you want to have to those characters, films, or television series that start with that letter?  </p>

<p>I've been considering that we need some additional genre categories for the movies and tv shows as it seems a little limited at times.  My own suggestions are: </p><p><i>Espionage</i>  (for spy movies and shows like <i>James Bond</i>) </p><p><i>Courtroom Drama</i>  (for movies and shows for legal battles like <i>Law & Order</i>) </p><p><i>Giant Monsters</i>  (for stuff like <i>Godzilla</i> films) </p><p><i>Political </i> (for movies and shows that have a political theme like <i>West Wing</i>) </p><p><i>Medical </i> (for movies and shows that involve doctors and hospitals like <i>House M.D. </i>or <i>Scrubs)</i> </p><p><i>Remakes </i> (for those films/tv series that have been rebooted or modernized such as 1971 film <i>Wily Wonka & the Chocolate Factory</i> was remade in 2005 as <i>Charlie & Chocolate Factory</i>; I would consider the later to be a Remake for example) </p><p>I also think another genre would be something like "historical" or maybe "fact-ion" as it's sometimes referred to; where they take a real life event or a person and dramatize it like <i>Argo</i>.  I'm just not sure what kind of name to give it though.  </p><p>Another genre might be <i>Literature Adaptations</i>; such as the <i>Lord of the Rings</i> and the <i>Jason Bourne</i> movies or shows like <i>Game of Thrones</i> are heavily based on literary novels.  </p><p>So far we haven't had anything like Daytime Soap Operas, Educational Shows (like <i>Sesame Street</i>), or Reality Shows (like <i>Survivor</i>) added; but it might be a matter of time. </p><p>I however think we shouldn't bother doing certain things like news shows or game shows.  I'm also sort of amblivant of certain other shows like cooking or decorating/fashion shows but some people like 'em so we might have to consider doing that too. </p><p>Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? </p>

<p>I think we need to have a dedicate forum so that people can post if they have any sort of technical problems or questions with the Wiki.  </p><p>I've noticed that sometimes I might be working quite a while on a certain section and then when I try and publish it, I have a problem with posting it as for some reason, I've been timed out or something and it proclaims that "A Wikia contributor" did it instead.  </p><p>Is there something that can be done to fix this? </p>
