<p>There's a rumor going around that the next reboot of the Friday the 13th film series is going to be a found footage movie. Today, those rumors may have gotten more support as <i>The Wrap</i> reported that David Bruckner, a director in <i>V/H/S</i>, will direct the reboot. If you aren't familiar, <i>V/H/S </i>is a film anthrology shot in the style of found footage. It is likely that the studio has chosen Bruckner because he has experience in the genre.
</p><p>Now, if the film is a found footage film, it would huge stylistic change from the other 12 movies in the franchise. (By the way, this reboot will be the 13th Friday the 13th movie.) Personally, I am not against such a change. Even if it does not work out, I can still watch the other films.

<p>V/H/S and Frankenstein's Army are pretty solid "found footage" horror films, so I don't instantly hate a film that goes that route. A Friday the 13th film could fit into that sub-genre, and might be a good way to breathe new life into the franchise.

A guy wearing a mask isn’t necessarily the ideal television protagonist, so presumably the producers have a core set of non-murderous characters in mind as well."

<p>Friday the 13th had a previous television series, so it's not an entirely new concept. The show will have to focus more on the victims, or Vorrhees family, because an hour long drama focused on a mute wouldn't make for very compelling television.
